Dr. Robert M. Resnick
Dr. Resnick is a native of Schenectady, NY and comes to the Tidewater area after maintaining private practices in Albany, NY and Lynchburg, VA. His specialties are Contact Lenses and Pediatric Optometry.
Dr. Resnick received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont, his Masters from Lynchburg College and his optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry. Following a 5 year tour with the US Army in Wuerzburg, Germany, he received his diplomate from the Gesell Institute of Child Development at Yale University and then a diplomate from the National Board of Examiner in Optometry.
He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, the Tidewater Optometric Society and the College of Vision Development. He has served as the President of the Southwest Optometric Society and has been on the Virginia Optometric Association's Executive board serving as liasion to the Virginia Paraoptometric Association fro 6 years.
In 2002, Dr. Resnick was honored by the Virginia Optometric Association with their "distinguished Optometrist of the Year" award. Besides writing numerous articles for professional journals and lecturing to various Optometric and Paraoptometric organizations, he has been listed in the Who's Who in the South for the past 25 years.
An avid golfer, Dr. Resnick also enjoys tennis, reading singing, and acting in amateur theater. He and his wife, Iris, reside in Cheasapeake, VA.
